CHEN Xu (Board Member, 2026 – present)

Ambassador Chen Xu entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in 1985.

From 2019 to 2025, he was the Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland.

Before that, he was the Chinese ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. He has held various important positions in the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Director General of the Department of European Affairs, and Director General of the Department of International Organization and Conferences.

Furthermore, he has been a member of the National Committee of the 14th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference since 2023, serving at the Commitee on Foreign Affairs. In January 2026, he took the position as the President of the China Public Diplomacy Association.
