During the event, participants considered concrete reform actions that can be taken by States both within and outside the UNCITRAL WG-III process and developing country experiences with IIAs. The objective of the event was to draw on past efforts to test existing theories and identify new recommendations on what States can feasibly do to effectively ensure that their investment treaties provide benefits without generating undue costs.
